Apple is currently in the process of blocking the SAM unlock, reports MuscleNerd. If you need to unlock a SIM or backup your unlock ticket do it now!
Looks like Apple's currently fixing their activation servers. But the good news is that previous tickets gotten via SAM trick still work.
what it boils down to is an incorrect assumption on the part of the ticket server, which is why it was so quick to fix
for the next few hours, trying SAM on new SIMs will probably be hit or miss, but eventually it will be all "miss"

Tonight pod2g, a renowned iOS security expert and hacker, updated his followers on Twitter with a series of tweets regarding the iOS 5.1 untethered Jailbreak status. On April 18th, pod2g announced that he managed to discover all of the exploits (presumably userland) required to create a “new [Untethered] jailbreak”.
Last week, just two days after announcing that all of the required exploits have been discovered, pod2g revealed that he successfully bypassed a “computer security” method known as ASLR (or address space layout randomization) – a difficult task in itself.
Up until today’s series of updates from pod2g, it was assumed that he and the group of hackers he’s been collaborating with have been gearing up for a release sometime in the not-so-distant future. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the case – the Untethered 5.1 Jailbreak may never be released, or it could be available as soon as roughly one month from now (according to pod2g)....

Pod2g has bypassed ASLR at bootup, making progress towards the public release of an iOS 5.1 jailbreak. ASLR is a security method that randomly arranges important data areas.
ASLR seems bypassed! Weird machines FTW. Time to ROP the payload.
Earlier this week pod2g revealed that the Chronic Dev-Team now has all the exploits required to release a userland jailbreak of iOS 5.1; however, it will take some time to put them together in a public ready tool.
